An Adjustment to Format
Hey there everyone!
Just to keep you all in the loop, I got a new job recently.
A lot is going through my head about this job. It’s part time work at a library, very neurodivergent friendly, and my supervisor seems incredibly kind, patient, and supportive. I haven’t been out of the apartment in any regular capacity since before the Pandemic; at least 2017, probably earlier if we’re talking daily work. That’s over eight years of isolationist habit I’m working against, and a lot of social fear that I’m coming to terms with.
Thankfully, therapy and medication have helped. When I told my partner about whether or not I wanted this job, I told them “I feel ready.”
That was a big realization for me.
I still have a lot of work to do. Re-learning how to be myself, how to heal the scars of socialization trauma, finding Nat in the middle of all the expectations, fears, uncertainties, and absurd — it’s going to take a lot of time.
Nevertheless, this is a relatively big shake-up to my routine, and it will take time to find my paces again.
What does that mean for Oddscrawl?
Well, I still have a fair buffer, so even if I stopped working entirely, I’d still be uploading until mid-April. I don’t plan on stopping, but I might hit a few bumps in the road. All of this is to say don’t expect the Tues-Thurs-Sat upload schedule to continue unabated. I may drop the Saturday uploads, or switch to a once-a-week format, depending, but I’ll make sure to let you all know when/if that happens.
Anyway, hope your lives are filled with peace and joy in equal measure, and that you feel strong enough to survive the world in which we live in.
Always remember, my fellow rat-goblins, scratch the heavens.
